Second in the World of Calidar collection and for use with any RPG, Beyond the Skies unveils the gods of this fantasy universe. At its core lie the descriptions of pantheons for the main races and cultures of the Great Caldera, their individual deities, their mythologies, alliances, and foes. Each chapter reveals the history of the ancient peoples who summoned these gods into existence and established their cults. A significant part of this compendium details special powers mortal followers and priests can earn, based on the strengths of their piety. “Beyond the Skies” goes on to flesh out myriad servants of the gods, demons, demigods, divine cabals, the politics of pantheons and their internal rivalries, the bond between tribal shamans and Calidar’s World Soul, the spirit lords of the Dread Lands, secret societies and knightly orders among mortals, right down to death and what lies beyond. This book provides quite a lot of mechanical bits to enhance the game in addition to mythologies, secret plots, and the floor plans of temples and secret brotherhood lairs, each an invitation for encounters and adventures.

Much like those of ancient Greece, gods interact with mortals and epic heroes in game of chess reaching past nearby planets and outer planes. However powerful they are, they face a world of dangers including another universe whose monstrous deities seek to devour all: from the masses of mortals to their divine patrons. They will not relent until, perhaps, they gobble the World Souls themselves—the magical core and the source of life of the planets in Soltan’s ephemeris. As bleak as Calidar’s future may seem, the gods fear that their deaths aren’t the worst of fates. This aspect of their peril-fraught existence is one element contributing to the dynamics of this fantasy setting, as it directly affects the players’ heroes and the realms in which they go on adventuring. This compendium is crucial as it will influence all future titles published in this series.

All told, this book includes 248 color pages. Text comes close to 200,000 words, tightly fitted. It provides at least 10 geographic maps showing the extent of cults in the realms of the Great Caldera, 10 full-page floor plans depicting the temples of leading deities, 11 more floor plans for the lairs of secret societies, and 8 diagrams detailing the personal relationships of the gods within their pantheons.

Important: Ownership of the first title, Calidar “In Stranger Skies,” is recommended to better enjoy this book (see add-ons, later on this page--the PDF is available there for just $6). “Beyond the Skies” does not demand any specific role-playing game system, as all provided materials are designed to be easily converted.

This full color battlemap is the 383rd of a series featuring various terrains. This installment of the battlemap series features an anomaly in a shallow crater on the moon.

The map is 28 x 30 squares in size, with each 1 inch square scaled to represent 5 feet. It is provided in 12 segments, which need to be assembled, in a single PDF using the letter format.

The product has been updated to include a large gridless JPG image of the map, intended for use with VTT software. It is 2016x2160 pixels in size at 72dpi.

Adventure:  This tabletop role-playing game adventure also is a self-contained mini-setting. Because the action takes place on a flying circus, Dreams of Aerie is easy to adapt to any game world. Drawing on Barnum & Bailey and Cirque du Freak, this  book's main plot elements involve a murder mystery, the rivalries of circus guilds, urban adventuring, and monster-hunting. Countless hooks allow side trips and alternate storylines, as each of the 90+ circus folk hide shadowy pasts and secret motivations. The heroes must contend with secret societies vying for hegemony among circus folk. If left to its own devices, a monstrous presence hidden aboard heralds catastrophic world events.  

Sourcebook:  This book's setting includes the circus itself, standing amid side shows and carnie shacks, themselves surrounded by a ring of permanent shops and dwellings called aeries, perched at the edge of the clouds. Two more decks lie below with all that the Greatest Show on Calidar needs to function, as well as its stranger secrets.  The flying circus can be used as a permanent home base for player characters, with plenty of adventure hooks to fill the cracks between expeditions "away from home." Although written for the World of Calidar, this setting is nearly self-contained until the referee starts unfolding the hidden stories of circus folk, and connects them with the chosen game's universe. 

Contents:  Dreams of Aerie is a 132-pg full color book, 8" 3/4 x 11" 1/4. The digital file is fully indexed. The hardcover book is printed on premium heavyweight paper stock for best result with the many maps included therein; the softcover book uses standard color paper. Deck plans are included in the book, as two-page spreads and as inset maps.  Deck plans can otherwise be obtained at a discount when purchased with this book, as separate 12"x18" posters, both labeled and unlabeled. This book is system-neutral: guidelines to help adapt the adventure's game statistics to common RPGs are available as a pay-what-you-want title.

The base modular wagon takes up 2x4" on a battle mat, has space for cargo in the back, and uses a modular harness system to switch out the tongue/harnesses as needed. The wagon comes in an easy-to-print 2-piece solid design that prints in 2 parts which do not require support, or a fully "rollable" version that has wheels/axles that roll on the table but requires more assembly. The modular wagon comes in 3 varieties (in both solid and rolling version):

  • Base wagon with no accessories. 
  • Wagon with a crossbow sitting under the driver's seat
  • Wagon with a waterskin and a lantern on the driver's seat

To make any base wagon a caravan wagon, just set the caravan top piece you want to use right on the bed and you are good to go! All tops print easily with no supports and have great sculpt detail. Variations include:
  • Gypsy wooden caravan top, with a rear door, front window, chimney, shingled roof, hanging lantern, and lots of hand-carved details
  • Base canvas covered-top wagon
  • Battle-ready canvas top with a long-sword tied to the front post and an iron shield slung off the back post
  • Road-worn canvas top with repaired rips and patches, canister hanging off front peg, and back flap ajar

The modular harnesses are designed to be interchangable with the base wagon bed. Using easy-to-access friciton fit pegs you can switch out harnesses in 2 seconds for your wagons. The harnesses are also designed with print-in-place hinges, so they can change height to match whatever animals you use as draft animals. There are three harness configurations:

  • Single harness, 1 row configuration
  • Double harness, 1 row configuration
  • Quadruple harness, 2 row configuration

**NOTES ON PRINTING AND PAINTING**

As stated above, all elements require no supports excepting the harnesses, which require minimal support and print easy. All pieces assemble quickly and easily, are ready to drop right into your slicer for printing, and print very well. All examples in the pictures were printed with Hatchbox white PLA at .12mm layer height, primed, then painted with a mix of Army Painter and cheap Apple Barrel paints and washes. Complex painting techniques are NOT required to make these pieces look great!
